🏐 Introduction

Volleyball is a fast-paced team sport invented in 1895. It is played by two teams separated by a net, aiming to ground the ball on the opponent’s court. Today, it is played around the world in schools, gyms, beaches, and professional arenas.

📌 Basic Rules

• 6 players per team on the court
• Teams may hit the ball up to 3 times
• Rallies begin with a serve
• Points scored when the ball hits the opponent’s court
• Matches are best of 5 sets

📊 Scoring System

Sets are played to 25 points (must win by 2). The 5th set goes to 15. Rally scoring means every rally earns a point.

👥 Player Positions

• Setter: The playmaker who sets up attackers.
• Outside Hitter: Main attacker and passer.
• Opposite Hitter: Strong attacker opposite the setter.
• Middle Blocker: Quick attacks and blocking.
• Libero: Defensive specialist wearing a different jersey.

• Serving – starting the rally
• Passing – receiving the ball
• Setting – preparing the attack
• Spiking – powerful downward hit
• Blocking – stopping attacks at the net
